I went to Edinburgh twice, it just about 45 minutes by train from Newcastle. Edinburgh is like another part of England, old city with old buildings and castle, I just feel a little bit different of the lifestyle, maybe because Edinburgh is more crowded than Newcastle and it is more like big city with Harvey Nicole in it. I just explore the old and new Edinburgh, went to the museum saw some original painting of Raphael, like most of the city in the Northern part of England, the weather is shyte.
