Since I've been staying quite sometimes in Singapore, its kinda hard to recommend people what to do and where to go, every time my friends come from over seas, I have no idea where to stroll around with them, for me Orchard road is boring, so if they come to visit me I always bring them to Arab street. What I like it a lot is they have a lot of unique shops, cafes or sometimes you can find a flea market on some of the weekends.
Nearby the mosque, there is one toy shop that sells the teddy bears and also another unique shop that has a big giant robot in front of it.
